Radio Frequency
IDentification (RFID) is a
transformational technology that will
profoundly affect the manufacturing,
logistics and retail sectors. With RFID
mandates going into effect in early 2005
for suppliers to Wal-Mart and the U.S.
Department of Defense (DoD), interest in
and progress toward deployment of RFID
is high. While the mandates from large
retailing and government procurement
organizations clearly are accelerating
the rate of adoption of RFID technology,
there's still considering anxiety and
doubt among implementers of RFID, as to
standards and compliance. These Larstan
white papers, featuring original survey
research, discuss all aspects of RFID
implementation and compliance.

"CEP involves
three capabilities. The first is the ability to
recognize event patterns that cut across
multiple sequences. The second concerns relevant
pattern abstraction: what is done to bring these
recognized patterns to a higher level of
abstraction so that business decisions can be
made by a human or automated processes. And the
third element is having networks of event
processing agents." --
